It’s not an easy thing to admit, but I often resonate with the kinds of people we label as bullies. When I’m angry, I lash out at people, and when I lash out at people, I am very good at hurting them. I once had someone very close to me tell me that I was being a bully – and he was right.

Today on International Volunteer Day, we celebrate globally the contributions that volunteers make that better society every day of the year. Our Duke of Ed participants are no strangers to community service – it is a requirement of earning the Award after all. That is why we thought today would be the perfect day to share our list of top 5 ways you can volunteer over the Holidays. Whether it’s to complete your Award section, or just because you are feeling particularly giving this season, here are a few ways that you can channel that holiday giving spirit.
This Giving Tuesday, the Duke of Ed is challenging our community to give back through small, everyday random acts of kindness. Sometimes just holding the elevator or sharing a smile with a person on the street can have a ripple effect. We want that ripple effect to spread throughout Canada via our participants to illustrate that one kind act can easily multiple and spread throughout an entire community.
